Building our first subscription plan

We launched Pro, our first subscription product, in 5 months.

As the lead designer on this project, I conducted research that shaped features and pricing, designed all key flows across plan selection, billing, and plan management, and helped develop our GTM strategy.

Cash back rewards

Time and time again, our customers told us that the #1 feature they wanted was to earn cash back on their debit card spending.


So we listened. As part of Monzo Pro, we built out a cash back program that rewards customers with instant 2% cash back on groceries and eating out transactions. Now, customers can get a little extra cash for their everyday spending and stash it in a Savings Jar to help them reach their goals faster.

Building scalable systems

We designed and built the plan selection flow to scale in anticipation of future offerings — new subscription tiers can be added and configured entirely by the back-end.

Helping users discover value

Presenting free trial offers at high-intent moments, e.g. when they attempt to engage with Pro-only features.


We prioritized clearly communicating free trial timelines (and built in reminders) to alleviate any anxieties that come with forgetting to cancel.
